How to set up push notifications on your phone
What this guide is about
When you install the DiscourseHub app, you will be asked if you want to receive push notifications.
What are push notifications?
They show up as messages or alerts on your phone.
They let you know when someone replies to your post.
You can turn them on or off at any time.
Changing notifications on an Android device
If you use an Android phone or tablet (Samsung for example), then please follow the below instructions:
Go to your Settings app.
Find your Notifications menu.
Tap into App notifications.
Find the DiscourseHub app
Toggle the Show notifications switch on or off, and amend other notifications settings:
notification badges.
floating notifications.
lock screen notifications.
play a sound when you receive a notification.
vibrate the phone when you receive a notification.
Changing notifications on an Apple device
If you have an iPhone or iPad and want to change your notification settings, please follow the below instructions:
Go to your Settings app.
Find the Notifications menu.
Scroll down to the DiscourseHub option.
Toggle the Allow Notifications switch on or off.
You have a number of options if you are turning these on:
Choose what type of alert you want to receive
Choose if the Banner (or alert) should be temporary or persistent
Decide if you want to receive alerts for the Badges you receive
Choose how these notifications appear on your lock screen
