How to Mute or Ignore someone from their profile

You can manage these settings in two ways: from a person’s profile or directly in your Preferences.

  • Mute: Stops notifications but doesn’t hide their posts.

  • Ignore: Hides everything, and you can choose how long to ignore them:

    • 1 day

    • 1 week

    • 1 month

    • Forever

How to Mute or Ignore someone from your Preferences

  1. Go to your Preferences: Click on your profile picture in the top-right corner, then click on the grey person icon on the right-hand side of the menu, then select Preferences.

  1. Once you’ve finished, click the blue ‘Save Changes’ button.

Important things to know

  • Who can Ignore?
    The Ignore feature is usually available only to all users.

  • Muting is available to everyone
    Anyone can mute another user, regardless of their trust level.

  • No notifications
    When you mute or ignore someone, they won’t be notified.

  • When to report
    If a user’s behaviour violates community guidelines, muting or ignoring them won’t solve the problem for others. Please report them to a moderator for further action.
