How to search the Online Community

What this guide is about

The search bar in the Online Community helps you find topics, posts, and information quickly. You can use it to search for specific questions, topics of interest, or posts from other members.

This guide will show you how to:

  • Search for posts and topics.

  • Use basic search filters to find what you need.

  • Use the advanced search filter.

How to use the search bar

  1. When you are on the Online Community homepage, look for the magnifying glass icon 🔍 in the top right corner of the screen.

  1. Click on the magnifying glass icon to open the search bar. Type in keywords or phrases related to what you need, such as:

  • A specific topic (e.g., "stroke recovery").

  • A question (e.g., "How to manage fatigue after stroke?").

  • A member's username if you want to find their posts.

  1. Once you have entered what you want to search, click Enter, a list of results will appear below the search bar. Click on any post to go straight to it.

  1. To see more results, scroll down and click "More…". This will show you all of the results for your search.

  1. When you are on the full search results page, you can filter your results to find exactly what you need. You can narrow down your search by sorting the results by:

  • Relevance.

  • Latest Post.

  • Most Liked.

  • Most Viewed or

  • Latest Topic.

You can also further filter your results to find exactly what you need. You can narrow down your search by type, such as:

  • Topics/posts.

  • Categories/tags.

  • Users.

Using the advanced filter

If you want to narrow down your search even more, you can use the Advanced Filters:

  1. Click on "Advanced Filters" under the search bar.

  2. You can now filter your search results by:

    • Category: Choose a specific category to focus on.

    • Tags: Search for posts with specific tags.

    • Date: Find posts from before or after a certain date.

    • Author: Look for posts from a specific member.

    • Other Options: You can also search for posts you have liked, read, or that are in your messages.

  3. Once you’ve set your filters, click "Search" to see the updated results.
