How to set up a Passkey and Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

Keeping your account safe and secure is important. Setting up a passkey or two-factor authentication (2FA) adds extra protection to your account, making it harder for anyone else to access it.

  • A Passkey lets you log in securely using fingerprint, facial recognition, or a PIN instead of a password.

  • Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) adds an extra step to your login, requiring a code from an app on your phone.

These security steps help keep your personal information safe. Its easy to set up, and you can do it in just a few minutes.

This guide will show you how to:

  • Set up a Passkey.

  • Set up Two-Factor Authentication (2FA).

How to set up a Passkey

  1. Click your profile picture in the top right corner.

  1. Click the grey person icon then select Preferences.

  1. Navigate to the second tab and select Security.

  2. Then, click on the button + Add Passkey.

  1. Click on the + Add Passkey button.

  2. A prompt will appear asking you to confirm your identity.

  3. Put in your password and click on the blue Confirm button.

  1. Follow the on-screen instructions to authenticate using your device (e.g., fingerprint, facial recognition, or PIN).

  2. Once completed, a message will appear asking you to name your Passkey.

  3. Type a name for your Passkey and click Save.

You have now successfully set up a Passkey! You can log in more securely without typing your password.

How to set up two-factor authentication (2FA)

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) adds an extra step to your login, making it harder for anyone else to access your account.

Please note: If you currently log in using Google, enabling 2FA will disable Google login. You will need to log in using your username, password, and 2FA code after setup.

  1. Click your profile picture in the top right corner.

  2. Click the grey person icon, then select Preferences.

  1. In your account menu, navigate to the second tab and select Security.

  2. Then click the Manage Two-Factor Authentication button.

  1. Click + Add Authenticator.

  2. A QR code will appear on the screen.

  3. Open your Authenticator App (e.g., Google Authenticator, Authy, Microsoft Authenticator etc.) on your device.

  4. Use the app to scan the QR code.

  5. After scanning the QR code, your Authenticator App will generate a 6-digit code.

  6. Enter this code on the Online Community setup page.

  7. Click Verify to complete the setup.

Two-Factor Authentication is now enabled! Each time you log in, you’ll enter a 6-digit code from your app for extra security.
